3G System Fitness Internship: Adobe Suite

During my internship at 3G System Fitness, a fitness and nutrition consulting company, one of my many responsibilities included digital graphic development and creation. My specific duties included, but were not limited to; video editing, audio editing, and most importantly contributing to content through social media branding. Prior to my internship I had no experience in video and audio editing, which made for this experience to be a rather large yet exciting learning curve. In order to edit and develop audio clips for 3G System Fitness’s podcast called My Fitness Journey (MFJ), I effectively taught myself and utilized Adobe Premiere Pro to create properly formatted videos and audio sets imported from Zoom. I was able to gain a basic understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro through this experience.

In regards to digital graphic development, I was able to continue to develop my understanding of Adobe Photoshop and also teach myself how to use Adobe Illustrator. Prior to my internship, my friend and fellow marketing intern Kieran Mackay created Illustrator templates for 3G branding purposes. I was able to teach myself how to use these templates to create new designs consistent with 3G’s brand image, continue brand development of graphics in line with 3G’s marketing efforts, and most importantly gain an understanding of how to use Adobe Illustrator. My development and proficiency in Adobe is nowhere near finished, and I only see myself continually progressing into my career with my understanding and use of Adobe Suite, as I believe I have found a great, new passion in graphic design. The Adobe Suite skills I gained through my internship at 3G System Fitness will definitely help me to progress and excel as I continually search for a career in creative marketing or graphic design. I have attached some examples of my work below to highlight this experience.

Colby Davis of Boston Internship: Product Development and Design

Over the course of my internship with Colby Davis of Boston, one of my main responsibilities was product design and collaboration. Colby Davis is a family-owned and operated jewelry manufacturer based out of Massachusetts selling sterling silver, 18k gold, and glass enamel jewelry. Regarding product design, each week I would meet regularly with colleagues to promote and collaborate potential new designs. From here we would analyze their compatibility with our target market segmentations. This process was extremely organic and based upon free-handed drawings due to my total lack of experience with Adobe Suite at the time. Despite this obstacle, my colleagues and I were able to effectively create an entirely new jewelry collection for the 2021 fiscal year. I cannot attach these designs as they are yet to be released, but can further evaluate about the process upon inquiry. Through this process I realized my intense desire to pursue a creative career with a focus on graphic design so I can better articulate my ideas.
